For this project, I was tasked with creating a film festival that would not only entertain audiences but also encourage them to think about the rapid evolution of technology and its potential impact on our lives, especially in the future. One of the main challenges was curating a festival that could engage audiences with different levels of technological knowledge while also creating an experience that felt powerful and memorable.
I chose films that explored AI, automation, social media, and virtual reality while keeping them accessible to audiences of all backgrounds. To visually reinforce the theme of technology, I designed the festival space using bright blue and pink accents against dark blue and black backgrounds. This contrast represented both the excitement and caution that can come with rapid technological change while creating a cohesive visual identity across screens, installations, and signage.
Each day of the festival also included open discussions after the screenings, giving attendees the opportunity to share their thoughts, question the ethical implications of technology, and reflect on how these innovations could affect their own lives. Although this project was challenging, every element was carefully considered around the central idea of how technology can both connect and disconnect us from the world around us.
